Relationship Counselling

Relationship counselling helps you to make the most of your relationships, past, present or future. Our relationships and the way we relate to people are key sources of happiness and when things go wrong this can lead to stress, anxiety, depression and feelings of low self-worth. Furthermore if not addressed it can eventually lead to relationship breakdown.

Our first relationships start in the family and our early experiences are likely to influence the ways that we relate to others throughout our life. In relationship counselling I work with you to understand what is going on currently between you, why this might be the case and then we find practical solutions for all parties. Everyone gets heard in my counselling room and I work fairly with all parties!

Common problems that bring people to relationship counselling:

  • Communication difficulties
  • One or other party having an affair
  • Trust and Jealousy issues
  • Conflict
  • Work Life Balance
  • Coping with a new baby
  • Drifting apart
  • Loss of intimacy
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Addictive behaviours
  • Divorce and/or separation
  • Family matters
  • Financial issues
  • Access arrangements to children
  • Parenting styles

The benefits:

It really depends what you want to get out of the counselling, but it is rare that you will leave counselling without feeling a positive change. For some people it can transform their lives and relationships; for others it helps to resolve a specific problem and move forward with more confidence and less anxiety.

I work with anyone that has a relationship problem: married couples, couples living together, boyfriend/girlfriend, gay and lesbian relationships, mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, etc. siblings, divorced and separated, adopted children and parents.

A few counselling sessions will be a sound investment for your future and that of your family and will help take things forward in a positive way for all concerned.
