Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a means of communicating with the subconscious mind practiced in a very relaxed state. It is not a state of deep sleep. It does involve the induction of a trance-like condition, but when in it, the patient is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotist's voice. In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed.

In fact hypnosis is a state of consciousness one enters and leaves naturally all the time during our day-to-day experiences. We use this commonly occurring, and natural state of mind, unknowingly, all the time. Everyone has already experienced hypnosis, by accident or intentionally. It feels very much like day dreaming i.e., the state between sleeping and waking. In this state, known as alpha, your brain wave vibration rate slows down, giving you access to your Subconscious Mind.

Our conscious mind includes all that we are aware of and accounts for approx. 10% of our mind. We are able to process information, think and talk rationally (or irrationally) about information stored in our conscious memory.  Below this level of awareness lies our subconscious mind which accounts for the other 90%.  Our conscious decisions are influenced by the data stored in our subconscious minds which also stores memories and is a hidden reservoir of experiences, feelings, thoughts, urges, habits and memories outside of our conscious awareness. We constantly re-programme our subconscious minds through new experiences and internal dialogue in addition to all exterior sources that we encounter.

During hypnosis your conscious mind stays completely aware and will be able to accept information given to it by the hypnotherapist who is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the patient, the seeds of which become firmly planted.

Hypnotherapy aims to re-programme patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome.

Each hypnotherapy session should leave the patient relaxed, refreshed, optimistic and more in control

There is a huge potential for change using hypnotherapy and I can combine and integrate hypnotherapy with any other therapies that I offer.
