How you can use The Mood Cards

Whether you are using the cards on your own, with a partner or friend, there are many ways to benefit. Using the card will help you become more self-aware of your thoughts and feelings and will help you to move forward in a positive way.

Couples also find using the cards a great way to dive deeper into emotions and feelings which can be hugely beneficial for relationships.

Choose a card or two that resonates most with you in that moment or shuffle the pack and pick out a card at random. There are always things to learn:

Hold the card in your hand and focus on the image and ask yourself:

  1. How do I feel when I hold this card
  2. Does it resonate with me right now, or perhaps in the past
  3. What is happening in my body, the physical response

Answer the 3 questions on the back of the card which are based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Each question is a progression. The definitions, the explorations, the evidence, behaviours, other perspectives which will help you to see and learn more about your typical responses to situations and how to make subtle changes which will benefit you.

Read out the Affirmation at the bottom back of each card

If you like the affirmation, repeat so the positive words embed into the language you give yourself. It is like a rewriting of your script, the story you tell yourself, about yourself.
